Rain Guardians Community Event At Mission & Valencia Green Gateway

Join us for a Rain Guardians program community event to learn more about how you can support your city by adopting a rain garden! Our Rain Guardians volunteer program allows San Francisco community members to join the SFPUC in the stewardship of our cites rain gardens by adopting a rain garden and helping keep it free of trash and debris.
During the event we will chat about the program over coffee and snacks and tour the nearby rain gardens of the Mission and Valencia Green Gateway project. During the tour SFPUC green infrastructure gardeners will share how rain gardens work, why they are important, and how to best care for them before a storm. We will have tablets at the event so interested folks can sign up to become a rain guardian and take a set of tools (trash picker, safety vest, gardening gloves, and pin) home with them. For those that are already rain guardians, this will be a great time to meet fellow volunteers in your community.
